Feb. 13, 2006 – TEAM shows electronic traction control system
TEAM Industries, Detroit Lakes, Minn., has unveiled an electronic traction control system for ATVs and utility vehicles.
Called SmartLocker Electronic Traction Control, the unit utilizes the built-in intelligence of an electronic microprocessor.
The SmartLocker system consists of an electronic differential and optional electronic disconnect. Unlike mechanical and hydraulic applications, the SmartLocker’s electronic activation reacts immediately and smoothly, avoiding inconvenient engagement lags and accompanying handlebar jerks.
The unit also utilizes a true differential, which TEAM Industries says eliminates the clunks, ramp-ups and surges while adding the benefit of full engine braking.
TEAM Industries has been developing performance and reliability-enhancing components for original equipment manufacturers in the agricultural, lawn and turf, light utility and automotive markets since 1967.
The company’s powersports division, TEAM Industries Motorsports, was established in 2000 and produces ATV and snowmobile aftermarket performance products to fit vehicles from Arctic Cat, BRP, Eton, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki and Yamaha. TEAM’s patented Rapid Reaction Clutches represented the division’s first products.
TEAM Industries Motorsports recently announced a plan to partner with Moose Utility Division to provide ATV clutch kits branded for Moose. Moose is a division of LeMans Corporation, which is also parent company of Parts Unlimited, a wholesale distributor of products and accessories for on/off-road motorcycles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft and ATVs.
“We’re very excited about this new partnership with Moose,” said Dave Osterman, TEAM Industries Motorsports general manager. “With testing and tech support from TEAM and the excellent dealer network and support that the Moose Utility Division offers, Moose customers will have easy access to the best-performing clutch kits for their ATVs, with the quality and service they have come to expect with the Moose brand.” psb
