New Quadmasters Event Begins
A new ATV challenge tour began its inaugural season in May. The Quadmasters National ATV Challenge Tour is open to anyone who wishes to test their ATV riding skills against specific courses that are designed to challenge a rider’s skill. Riders are timed on the courses and gain points based on their time. Those points accumulate throughout the tour and winners will be crowned at the finale. The courses consist of eight to 10 challenges including a mud bog, rock and log crawls, bridge walk and more. There are eight classes available to enter, including a specialty bow hunters challenge and youth classes.
The classes are: Youth Stock (12 years and younger with a 50cc maximum); Junior Stock (13 to 15 years old with a 91 to 350cc limit); Adult Stock (160cc to 300cc and 301 to 450 cc and 451cc to 850cc); Adult Open Modified (200cc to 1100cc); Adult Sport (91cc to 350cc and 350cc to open); Ladies Stock (200cc to open); ATV Scramble (open to all modifications); and Bow Hunter (open to all modifications).
Eligible participants must purchase an annual membership, which costs $35 for those 16 years and older, $15 for 15 years and younger and $100 for a family of four to six people living at the same address.
There are four events remaining. They are June 3-5 in Black River Falls, Wis.; June 17-19 in Mansfield, Ohio; Sept. 3-4 in Logan, W.V.; and Sept. 24-25 in Sauk Rapids, Minn. Visit www.quadmasters.net for more information.

Carter Brothers Recalls 9,000 Fun-Karts
Carter Brothers Manufacturing Co. Inc., Brundidge, Ala., is recalling approximately 9,000 units of its Carter Brothers Fun-Kart off-road go-kart. Carter says the wheel could separate from the go-kart, posing a rollover hazard. No injuries have been reported.
The recall includes one-seater models 1136-3020, 1136-3021, 1136-3420, 1136-3421 and 1205-3020; and two-seater models 2336-3021, 2336-3022, 2336-5019, 2575-3020, 2575-3420, 2605-3416, 2605-3515, 2606-3016, 2606-3017, 2606-3416, 2606-3417, 2636-3016, 2636-3017, 2906-3015, 2906-3016, 2906-3017, 2906-4015, 2906-4016, 2906-4017, 2909-3015, 2909-3415, 2909-4015, 2910-3015, 2910-3016, 2910-3415, 2910-4015, 2910-4016, 2910-4415, 2911-4015, 2911-4016, 2946-3015, and 2946-3016.
Manufactured in Brundidge, the Fun-Karts were sold at Carter Brothers dealers nationwide from April 2003 through March 2005 for between $900 and $2,900.
