Redline ATV in development

Snowmobile manufacturer Redline Performance Products, of Vista, Calif., sent our sister publication Snow Week magazine a postcard that confirms it is working on a sport quad called the “Contender.” Because it is a publicly held company, Redline declined comment on the ATV and would not disclose specifications nor an expected release date.
We found an online Annual Report for investors, dated June of last year, that stated “… plan to expand to other seasonal products, such as ATVs, if we are successful in manufacturing, marketing and selling the 800 Revolt.” The 2005 800 Revolt snowmobile is powered by Redline’s 800cc high-output, liquid-cooled twin cylinder engine.

BIG BIKE PARTS TO ADD ATV LINE
Big Bike Parts of Rice Lake, Wisc., well known for motorcycle accessories, is expanding into the ATV aftermarket. The company’s first products include heated grips, a ball/pin hitch extension and ATV cover. More items are slated for introduction in the near future.
Huevos 6 Nominated
The Xtremey Awards have nominated H-Bomb Films’ Huevos 6 for the 2004 Off-Road Video of the Year. The Xtremey awards “honor the contribution extreme sports videos have had on the industry and applaud the artistic endeavors of their creators.”
Huevos 6 is the premier freestyle ATV video series on the market. H-Bomb Films is located in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Arkansas AG Issues Retail Reminder
Arkansas Attorney General Mike Beebe is asking his constituents to think carefully before purchasing scooters, small ATVs or small utility vehicles.
Beebe issued a reminder that it is unlawful for anyone to sell any new motorized vehicle at any place other than a state-licensed location unless the sale has been approved by the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission.
Not only is it illegal for unlicensed vendors to sell these vehicles, the vehicle itself may be poorly manufactured, which could lead to dangerous injuries, the AG’s office said, warning: “Sometimes the manufacturers’ warranties are of short duration or are even written in a different language, leaving consumers with little indication of what, if any, warranty they have received for protection. Unless a manufacturer/dealer is licensed with the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission, consumers may have limited recourse available to them in cases of malfunction or injury, since the dealer may be difficult to track down.”
The attorney general advises consumers not to buy scooters, small ATVs or small utility vehicles from places such as flea markets or street-side vendors without first making sure that the dealer is state-licensed-or-approved. It asks anyone having information on the unauthorized sales of scooters or small ATVs and small utility vehicles to contact the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission, 101 East Capitol, Suite 212, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201. Multiple Wins
Doug Gust won his fourth ITP/ATVA GNC Motocross race in a row, securing the top spot on the podium at Budds Creek, MD. The 36-year-old racer has factory support from Suzuki/Yoshimura. Second place went to Yamaha’s Jeremiah Jones, and the third spot belonged to Tim Farr, Factory Honda’s rider.
Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, witnessed another GNCC cross-country win for Bill Ballance, his fifth-straight. Ballance, a Yamaha of Troy racer, came from behind to top Suzuki’s William Yokley and East Coast ATV’s Chris Borich. psb
