Three early sled releases announced by Cat, Ski-Doo
Two snowmobile manufacturers have introduced early release 2005 snowmobiles. Arctic Cat Inc., Thief River Falls, Minn., released two machines: a T660 Turbo ST and a King Cat 900. Bombardier released a special edition version of its MX Z Renegade hybrid.
The 2005 MX Z Renegade has two features not available on the 2004 version: a 16-inch-wide PowderMax track and the Rotax 600 high-output engine with semi-direct injection. Both of these features were standard with other 2004 models. Other key features include the SC-10 III-136 rear suspension, HPG shocks, Precision dual carbide skis, RER electronic reverse, mountain rack and moving mid-height windshield.
Ski-Doo will produce a limited quantity of these machines, and will sell for $8,249 for the 1.25-inch-lug track and $8,449 for the 1.75-inch-lug track.
Arctic Cat’s T660 Turbo takes on the look of its more sporty ZR model line, with a ZR-style seat and handlebars and a low-profile chrome windshield. The front shocks are the ACT gas, replacing the Ryde FX shocks found on the 2004 sled. Styling has changed to bright red with white accents.
The T660 Turbo will sell for $9,199, and will ship to dealers in mid-January.
The 2005 King Cat 900 EFI now comes with the fuel-injected engine — the ’04 version was a carb-only option. The engine has 150 hp, and Arctic Cat guarantees a two-pull start with the engines. It will ship to dealers in mid-January and sell for $10,599.
