Traffic increases at V-Twin Show
Traffic increased dramatically at the third annual 2003 V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati, according to show officials. The event was held Feb. 1-3 in the Albert Sabin Convention Center.
“It was beyond a success,” said Laura Hurd, president and COO of Paisano Publications, the show’s owner. Hurd told Powersports Business magazine that attendance figures for Saturday and Sunday totalled 10,960, compared to 5,305 for the entire three-day event last year. Attendance figures only included dealer attendees, she said. The top state was Ohio, with 1,394 attendees; California was second with 560.
Hurd said that 74% of the exhibitors had signed up for next year’s show as of Monday, Feb. 3. Most were asking for more space, she said.
Awards presented at the show included: Motor of the Year, S&S Cycle 124 cubic inch motor; Frame Design of the Year, Daytec Goliath series frames; Wheel Design of the Year, Big Bear Choppers Three-spoke Spiderweb; New Product of the Year, Goldammer Front Ends; Performance Product of the Year, QTM — Brembo 4-piston Brakes; Metric Cruiser of the Year, Honda VTX 1300; Touring Bike of the Year, Harley-Davidson CVO 103 inch Road King; Rubber-mounted Bike of the Year, American Iron Stalker; Sport-Cruiser of the Year, Yamaha Road Star Warrior; New V-twin Bike of the Year, Victory Vegas; Industry Leader of the Year, Nick Messer, Big Dog Motorcycles; and Lifetime Achievement Award, Fred Fox, Drag Specialties.
