Triumph has been working hard to recover from the devastating fire last year, and has several new bikes in the pipeline. Look for a couple more variations of the Bonneville, including perhaps a café racer replica and a scrambler. Also look for a really fast Daytona 1300 later this year, along with a more tame touring iteration. The big 2200cc monster cruiser may be delayed.
Shaffer promoted at Dunlop
Dunlop Motorcycle Tires said Ed Shaffer has assumed the responsibilities of manager, Business Support Services.
Shaffer will be responsible for directing motorcycle related forecast planning, customer service and consumer affairs administrative support functions. His responsibilities include developing, organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating the systems, processes and personnel necessary to support the goals and objectives for Dunlop Motorcycle Tires.
He brings to this position nearly 14 years of Dunlop work experience, including his most recent assignments as manager, special project — motorcycle & corporate manager, product planning.
Dates For Honda Hoot set
It’s official, the 10th annual Honda Hoot will return to Knoxville, Tenn. Event organizers have announced that the event will be held June 18-21, 2003, at the Chilhowee Park Fairgrounds.

BMW December Sales Up 40%
BMW of North America, LLC, Woodcliff Lake, NJ, the importer and distributor of BMW motorcycles in the United States, posted sales of 13,507 units in 2002. This marks the sixth consecutive year of record sales in the U.S. and represents nearly a 4% increase over sales in 2001. December sales reached an all-time monthly high of 1,625 motorcycles, showing a 40% gain over sales in December 2001.
BMW says the top-selling model for 2002 was, once again, the R 1150 RT. The next best-selling bikes were the popular K 1200 LT and the R 1150 GS. The company launched four new models in 2002 — the F 650 CS, R 1150 GS Adventure, R 1200 CL and the K 1200 GT.
