TLD’s McElrath set for first Supercross on live TV on Fox Sports (Saturday, 3 p.m. EST)

News release

On Saturday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM’s Shane McElrath will make not only his debut aboard the KTM 450 SX-F but also will do so in front of the largest TV audience to date as the race will be broadcast on live network television on FOX (3pm EST / Noon PST) for the first time ever.

McElrath just completed the best season of his young career, where he finished runner-up in the Western Regional 250SX Championship. En route to second overall, McElrath scored seven top-10 results in eight races, earning two second-place podium finishes in San Diego and Houston.

“It’s exciting and definitely an honor to be the team’s first rider aboard a KTM to lineup on the 450SX Class gate,” said McElrath. “The team hasn’t put any pressure on me for a certain result, but I really love the KTM and think I can make it a good weekend. It’s going to be interesting with the different schedule (racing begins at 3 p.m.), but I think I can use that to my advantage.”
