Manheim Specialty Auctions signs on as ProfitX sponsor

Manheim Specialty Auctions has signed on as a “Powered by” sponsor for the second-annual Powersports Business Conference & Expo Profit Xcelerator, otherwise known as ProfitX. The conference, hosted by Powersports Business magazine and the powersports industry’s leading suppliers, takes place Oct. 15-17 at Las Vegas’ Red Rock Resort Casino & Spa.
Manheim chose to support the event at the “Powered by” level, the highest ProfitX sponsorship available, because of the educational value it believes ProfitX holds for the industry. Manheim was also a “Powered by” sponsor for the inaugural event.
“ProfitX is all about finding ways for dealers to maximize profits, which is exactly what Manheim does by helping customers realize the full value of their vehicles,” says Karen Braddy, Manheim’s General Manager of Specialty and Heavy Truck & Equipment. “The powersports industry hasn’t fully recovered from the economic downturn just yet, but through support of ProfitX, we believe we can help dealers return to the days of greater revenue and profitability.”
In addition to its sponsorship, Manheim will contribute to a panel discussion on powersports auctions during the event. Kim Miskotten, National Motorcycle & PowerSport Manager for Manheim Specialty and Heavy Truck & Equipment, will join representatives from other auction companies to explain the process and answer questions for dealers. The panel is scheduled as part of the Powering Profits Track at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Manheim again this year,” says Neil Pascale, editor-in-chief of Powersports Business. “After the response we received from the 2009 event, it’s even more clear to us today that powersports dealers can benefit greatly from the numerous learning opportunities available to them at ProfitX. With the support of partners like Manheim, we expect to improve on what we accomplished last year and deliver dealers even more value.”
In its inaugural year in 2009, ProfitX exceeded expectations by attracting more than 250 dealers. Total attendance for the event reached 350, despite the incredibly challenging economy. In 2010, ProfitX moves to Red Rock Resort Casino & Spa, where it expects to attract even more dealers and exhibitors. The event will once again feature the one-of-a-kind educational lineup — including two concurrent tracks and 15 total educational sessions — that attracted dealers last year, and more than 15,000 sq. ft. of space is available for the exhibit hall.
Manheim, a leader in specialty vehicle auctions, was started to meet the needs of customers looking for used vehicles other than traditional automobiles. Today, Manheim offers customers access to 81 locations in North America, with 17 dedicated to selling specialty units including boats, RVs, motorcycles and powersports vehicles.
