Henry J. Lonski has been tapped to serve as Vice President, Sales North American operations at Florida-based United Motors of America (UM).
An industry veteran with 20 years of sales and marketing experience, Lonski spent 13 years at Bombardier, Inc., followed by stints at Auction123.com and Vento Motorcycles.
Lonski's new position at UM will have him responsible for development and management of UM sales and dealer support initiatives, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company's sales and dealer support staff. He will report directly to President Juan Villegas.
Headquartered in Miami for the past decade, UM offers a line of street, dual-sport and off-road motorcycles as well as scooters and ATVs with displacements ranging from 49cc to 650cc. While product is sourced from Asia, the company currently supplies more than 600 dealerships and 17 distributors throughout the world from three North American distribution centers.
UM also offers a three-year-warranty, private label HSBC Retail Financing, GE Dealer floor plans, dealer demo programs and a COOP advertising program.
Lonski's first initiative for the company will be to establish an expanded UM Sales & Dealer Support Group in Miami to focus on sales support and dealer services.
“Our emphasis will be to continue to make things happen, increasing our dealer base reasonably in the U.S. and assisting our UM dealers quickly and efficiently to help them maximize retail sales,” Lonski said.
