BMW says it sold 57,287 motorcycles worldwide during the first six months of the year, up 17.9% from 48,570 units sold during the first two quarters of 2004.
The company said it delivered 11,566 units in June, up 9.8% from 10,538 units delivered during June 2004.
BMW sold 92,266 motorcycles worldwide in 2004, down 0.7% from 2003 full-year sales.
Although based in Munich, BMW currently builds all of its motorcycles at a plant in Berlin. However, a production agreement with Aprilia will again bring the production of select BMW models to Italy.
