Artic Recalls 16,200 ATVs
Arctic Cat, Inc., Thief River Falls, Minn. Has issued a recall involving 16,200 of its FIS and TBX model ATVs.
Arctic cays the fuel tank used on these ATVs could develop a fuel leak. If this occurs, a fire hazard with the possibility of injury and property damage could occur. There have been no reported incidents of fire or injury.
The recall includes the 2005 500 4x4 Auto LE, 500 4X4 Auto, 500 4X4 Manual, 650 V2 4X4 Auto, 650 V2 4X4 Auto LE, 400 4x4 Auto TBX and 500 4X4 Auto TBX.
The FIS models affected by this recall have the vehicle identification number (VIN) ranges of 4UF05ATV15T226237 through 4UF05ATV15T242874, and 4UF05ATV55T246510 through 4UF05ATV55T248189.
The TBX models have VIN ranges of 4UF05ATV15T221345 through 4UF05ATV15T223967, and 4UF05ATVX5T251024 through 4UF05ATV55T251397.
Manufactured in Thief River Falls, the quads were sold at Arctic Cat dealerships nationwide from September 2004 through March 2005 for between $5,500 and $7,500.
Arctic says registered owners have been notified about this recall by mail and asked to contact their local Arctic Cat ATV dealer to schedule a free repair.
