New CEO at XBoard Builder
Art Robins has been tapped as chief executive officer of Nova Communications Ltd., replacing Ken Owens. Nova Communications, Torrance, Calif., is the manufacturer of the XBoard motorized surfboard.
Robins, in a Feb. 1 letter to company shareholders, says Nova will continue to look for organizations to partner with which offer synergies capable of forwarding production of the XBoard.
“In order to fulfill requirements for XBoard manufacturing, we will outsource production to new partners who will join the Nova family by acquisition, joint venture, or long-term agreements,” Robins wrote. “Over the course of the next several months we intend to announce the successful conclusion of these ventures, and how they will relate to our family matrix.”
An EPA-compliant rotary engine powers the XBoard’s jet pump, and Robins says the company is proceeding with production of the PWC hull in two different composite materials.
