Domenicali elected chairman of association

The Motorcycle Sports Manufacturers Association has elected Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding SpA, as the new chairman of MSMA for the next two years. The election of the members’ general meeting was held at Jerez de la Frontera during the Spanish GP.

“It is an honor to accept this role, both in person and in my capacity as CEO of Ducati Motor Holding,” Domenicali told the assembly for the nomination. “Ducati now holds this position for the first time in 27 years of MSMA activity. In facing up to this task, we are fully committed to making an important contribution to the further growth and professionalism of the sporting activities that see the participation of the world’s most important motorcycle manufacturers.”

MSMA, formerly known as GPMA, was established in 1992 to represent the interests of the manufacturers involved in racing during the meetings with the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), the various promoters and the teams’ associations.

Domenicali succeeds Katsuhide Moriyama of Honda Motor Corporation, the previous MSMA chairman.
