Polaris recalls 2015-17 Slingshot motorcycles
Polaris has issued three recalls on its 2016-17 Slingshots, two of which also affect 2015 models.
Brake pressure switch
Polaris Industries, Inc. is recalling 6,860 model year 2016-17 Slingshot motorcycles manufactured between Dec. 28, 2015 to April 27, 2016.
In the affected units, the brake pressure switch may have been over tightened in the affected motorcycles. Over tightening of the brake pressure switch may damage the seal, allowing brake fluid to leak, resulting in reduced brake performance and increasing the risk of a crash.
Polaris will notify owners, and dealers will install new brake pressure switch seals, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in November 2016. Owners may contact Polaris customer service at 1-855-863-2284. Polaris’ number for this recall is T-16-02.

Fuel line
Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling 17,795 model year 2015-17 Slingshot motorcycles manufactured March 4, 2014, to October 7, 2016. The affected vehicles may have insufficient clearance between the fuel line and the hood structure.
The insufficient clearance may allow the fuel line to rub against the hood until it leaks fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Polaris will notify owners, and dealers will replace the replace the engine fuel line, and inspect the retention clips to reduce the risk of interference, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in November 2016. Owners may contact Polaris customer service at 1-855-863-2284. Polaris’ number for this recall is T-16-03.
Swing arm
Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling 17,572 model year 2015-17 Slingshot motorcycles manufactured March 4, 2014, to September 7, 2016. The affected vehicles may have been manufactured with a swing arm that has insufficient strength.
Due to the insufficient swing arm strength, the swing arm may fracture resulting in a loss of momentum or vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Polaris will notify owners, and dealers will inspect, and repair or replace the swing arm, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in November 2016. Owners may contact Polaris customer service at 1-855-863-2284. Polaris’ number for this recall is T-16-06.
Same Polaris GARBAGE as always and plugging up the landfills nationwide and around the world!
As the owner of a rental fleet of ATV’s and snowmobiles we have tried many brands of ATV’s and side by sides I concur 100% with the Polaris GARBAGE comment above. We have had to sell every one of our RZR’s because they spend more time in the shop than they do on the trails and their ATV’s aren’t much better. It baffles me why the masses keep flocking to them. I guess slick and excessive marketing beats quality (at least in the short term).
We have been renting these Polaris Slings since they first came out. We had a few of these 2015 with the steering issue and we are thankful non of our riders ever got hurt. Highly recommend getting all the recalls done. There are a few new ones that have come out recently (radiator reservoir and the rear swing arm) they can literally leave you on the side of the road.
