DEI Powersports partners with McKinnon Motorsports Team

DEI Powersports and Elyse McKinnon, aka Drag Bike Girl, of McKinnon Motorsports are teaming up for the 2016 drag race season.

DEI knows that racers are made up of something different from everyone else, and Elyse McKinnon is no exception. Recently, McKinnon returned to the drag strip with her BMW S 1000 RR for the first time since last summer when a dramatic crash left her with a laundry list of injuries, including a broken back. After a long road to recovery she is now cleared to once again race on the NHRA circuit.

Elyse said, “Right now I just can’t imagine my life without drag racing, but I still have some work to do to get my body back into race shape.”

Elyse and her team were all a little anxious to be back at Heartland Park (Topeka, Kan.) in preparation for the season, but soon felt at ease being on their home track surrounded by their many racing friends. It was a busy day but a great opportunity to shake the dust off the RR, and for Elyse to see how it felt to be back in the groove. She reports that they still have more testing to complete and competition is only a few weeks away.

“DEI is excited to partner with Elyse and Chris this season. Drag racing is a pretty specialized sport with its own unique challenges. We look forward to helping McKinnon Motorsports reach their race goals this year,” said DEI Powersports brand manager Brian VanKoevering.

Elyse is looking forward to getting more passes under her belt and having a great 2016 season with the support of her sponsors: Engle Motors, Vanson Leathers, Shinko Tires, Galfer, Sprint Filter, Brock’s Performance, Vortex, Schnitz Racing, Penske Shocks, APE, Bren Tuning, Motion Pro, DEI, Worldwide Bearings, GPR, American Kargo, Pro-Bolt, and RPM Powersports.
