News release

Hot Leathers, the industry leader in motorcycle apparel and accessories, took home Gold and Bronze awards in the prestigious International Golden Image Competition (IGIC) at the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA) expo in Atlanta, GA, November 4-6, 2015.

“It’s nice to receive unbiased validation like this for the hard work and meticulous craftsmanship we put into the designing and manufacturing of our products,” says Hot Leathers’ executive vice president Andy George. “We’re always proud of our work, and it’s great to see it recognized on an industry level.”

Eighty-seven countries from around the world submitted close to 400 entries in 53 product categories for the IGIC. Hot Leathers won Gold for its Sturgis Motorcycle Rally(TM) 76th Anniversary 2016 Saloon T-shirt design and Bronze for its Daytona Bike Week 2016 Beach Racer T-shirt design. Hot Leathers is an official sponsor of both of these iconic motorcycle rallies. Hot Leathers also received an Honorable Mention for its Buffalo Chip Nickel T-shirt design as well.

“The Golden Image competition is judged on the technical accomplishments of each entry, excluding aesthetic issues from the evaluation and scoring process. Prints are judged on the level of difficulty and quality of execution,” says Johnny Shell, SGIA’s vice president of Technical Services.

Several Golden Image judges reported this year’s competition as being difficult to judge because so many entries were of such high quality.

“Judges in virtually every category told me the entries were so good that choosing winners was a real challenge,” said Shell.
