Power 50 dealership group adds 2 more stores

Adam Smith’s Calculated Risk Motorcycle Group, which currently consists of Adam Smith’s Texas Harley-Davidson in Bedford, Adam Smith’s Texoma Harley-Davidson in Sherman, and Adam Smith’s Harley-Davidson of Waco, is adding two new East Texas locations in Nacogdoches and Longview.

Previously known as The Harley Shop in Longview and Texas Thunder Harley-Davidson, the new locations will be renamed Adam Smith’s Lumberjack Harley-Davidson (Nacogdoches) and Adam Smith’s Roughneck Harley-Davidson (Longview). The addition of Roughneck Harley-Davidson and Lumberjack Harley-Davidson creates coverage from the Calculated Risk Motorcycle Group in North Texas, Central Texas, and now East Texas.

“The previous owners have done a great job. Now we’re going to take the baton and take it to the next level,” says Smith. The plan to triple marketing efforts in Longview and Nacogdoches, and increase events such as bike nights, garage parties, and service workshops, is just the beginning of changes riders can expect to see. Lumberjack Harley-Davidson and Roughneck Harley-Davidson will largely focus on events and community involvement.

“We’re going to show East Texas what it means to be in the Adam Smith family!” says new General Manager Rob Edwards. According to Rob, the company’s business model is as much about the Harley-Davidson experience as it is about motorcycle sales. “I remember buying my first Harley-Davidson at 16 years old. It was a purchase that changed my life. My goal is to recreate that experience for others over and over again. If we shortchange even one person the stellar experience of buying a Harley-Davidson, then we have failed.” This is the passion you can expect not only from the new general manager for the two stores, but from the whole Adam Smith team.

Both East Texas locations are open now. Adam Smith’s Lumberjack Harley-Davidson in Nacogdoches is at 2518 NW Stallings; Roughneck Harley-Davidson in Longview is at 3400 N. Fourth Street. “Come by and meet our team and get to know us,” said Edwards. “We will be a big part of the East Texas landscape and want to get to know our new Harley family members.”

The Longview and Nacogdoches dealerships, which currently employ 30 people combined, have plans to build on the core staff and drastically expand the team. “As we draw more folks into the store, we will need to increase the number of team members in order to serve those riders,” says Smith, “If you love Harley-Davidson motorcycles and want to make a career out of what you love — come see us!”

The addition of the two East Texas locations benefits all members of the Adam Smith Harley-Davidson family, as the dealerships now cover more than a 200 mile radius across North, Central and East Texas. This means more opportunities to serve current customers and expand the Adam Smith family, as well as broader access to new and pre-owned motorcycles, more genuine Harley-Davidson parts and accessories, more MotorClothes, and more riding across beautiful East Texas!
