Today Arctic Cat unveiled a new 2014 Prowler 500 HDX, which comes in three configurations. The new side-by-side models include some of the same features as the Prowler 700 HDX, but with a smaller displacement and lower price point.
Each of the three versions is powered by a 443cc, four-stroke engine with EFI, SOHC and liquid cooling. All three models also feature Duramatic automatic transmission and a tilting rear cargo box with a 600-pound capacity. The Prowler 500 HDX XT also includes side storage compartments and front storage with a 25-pound capacity. In addition to those components, the HDX Limited EPS model adds variable assist electronic power steering and five-position tilt steering. The HDX standard model comes in green or red, while the XT and Limited EPS versions are available in Vibrant Red Metallic or Emerald Green Metallic painted bodywork. The HDX base model is priced at $10,999, while the XT will run $11,699, and the Limited EPS is $12,399. In comparison, the Prowler 700 HDX base starts at $13,699.
The new Prowler was shown to powersports, hunting and farm media earlier this week. Powersports Business managing editor Liz Keener was on hand for that event, and will provide coverage in an upcoming issue of PSB.
