WPS makes changes to sales force

Western Power Sports announced several additions to its sales force.

Erik Lothian, most recently the national sales manager for Triumph Motorcycles America, has been named the new WPS regional sales manager for the Midwest territory. Lothian brings more than 15 years of motorcycle industry experience to WPS. Before joining WPS, he was with Triumph Motorcycles America in various roles, including regional manager and eastern sales manager, before becoming national sales manager. Lothian also has worked as mid-south district sales manager for Yamaha Motor Corp. U.S.A.

“The motorsports business has always been my greatest passion,” Lothian said. “I am glad to be working with such a dedicated, professional, hard working team that shares that passion. Western Power Sports has been expanding its market share dramatically and is fully dedicated to its customers. Over the years, I have been fortunate to have worn many hats in this industry. With this experience, I look forward to bringing the Midwest territory up to its full potential as a top performing region.”

WPS also made the following announcements:

Shawn Burnam has been promoted to manager of the WPS helmet brands. The position was created to offer more direct involvement with the WPS helmet lines, which include FLY (street and off-road) and Gmax.

Burnam has worked for WPS for 11 years, starting as an inside sales rep before becoming outside sales rep for Eastern Idaho/Western Wyoming. After repping for WPS for four years, he went to work for American Honda. In 2004, he returned to WPS as a regional sales manager for the Northeast territory, and most recently for the Midwest territory. As a sales manager, he also spent time developing the Gmax product line.

Effective Feb. 1, Clayne Driever will become the Northwest regional sales manager. Driever has been with WPS since 2007 and has been the regional sales manager for the Southeast territory since 2008. He formerly was Northwest region manager for Suzuki.

Jim Chester has been named regional sales manager for the Southeast. He started racing motorcycles at the age of 16 and raced professionally until 2005. A former motorcycle and bicycle shop owner, Chester joined WPS in 2007 as a sales rep in South Carolina.
