Power 15 Dealers

Power 15 dealers using effective promotional tools

Here’s a look at how some of the members of the inaugural Powersports Business Power 15 dealerships are spending their summers.

Bob Weaver Motorsports, North Tonawanda, N.Y. Bob Weaver Motorsports is turning to its base of Enewsletter readers to find like-minded employees in its service department. Enews subscribers who recommend a service tech that leads to the tech being hired at Bob Weaver Motorsports receives $200 in Weaver Fever bucks. It’s a strong way to reach candidates who likely have at least some familiarity with the dealership. Additionally, Bob Weaver Motorsports is offering a “Ride into July on a Brand New Victory Motorcycle” promotion, with rebates up to $1,000 on Victory bikes. Customers could buy before June 30 to take advantage of rebates up to $1,000 on bikes like the High Ball and Cross Country.

Mosites Motorsports, North Huntingdon, Pa. Mosites has changed locations for its ever-growing Thursday night bike nights, but the turnouts are as strong as ever. Brewstone Beer Company is the new host site. All 14 bike nights have live remote broadcasts by a local radio station. In fact, three different radio stations are in the rotating lineup this summer. Big-time sponsors include Tucker Rocky, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Deltran Battery Tender, Street fX, Maxima Racing Oil, K&N and Yoshimura.

Adam Smith’s Texas Harley-Davidson, Bedford, Texas. Adam Smith’s Texas Harley-Davidson turned to its customers to raise funds for the Wounded Warriors Project. WWP is a non-profit organization serving veterans and service members who have incurred a service-related injury, illness or wound on or after Sept. 11, 2001. The mission of the WWP is to honor and empower wounded warriors. There are currently more than 32,000 members of the WWP alumni and 3,379 family members.

May was Military Appreciation Month at the dealership. Texas Harley announced to the Dallas-Fort Worth area that it would make a donation for every motorcycle purchased in the month of May and that individuals could make donations. With the help of current and new customers, Texas Harley raised $22,015 for the WWP.

“We are so proud to be part of such a giving community, with the help of our customers and friends we are able to donate a substantial amount of money to the WWP,” said Neil Noble, general manager of Adam Smith’s Texas Harley-Davidson. “We can’t say thank you enough to the men and women who have sacrificed for our country and our freedom but this donation will help bring some comfort to our troops that have been injured in the line of duty.”

Fay Myers Motorcycle World, Greenwood Village, Colo. Fay Myers Motorcycle World is promoting its Bike Night at Twin Peaks Arapahoe. Two Wheel Tuesday will offer free giveaways, racing on the big screens, bikini bike washes. The event, from 6 to 9 p.m., concludes with a free Bell Helmet giveaway.

House of Harley-Davidson, Greenfield, Wis. House of Harley-Davidson got connected with one of the hottest events in town (other than the H-D 110th, of course!) by offering tickets to Summerfest, the 20-day concert marathon. House of Harley has a booth at the event, so the promotion makes all kinds of sense. The booth on the Summerfest grounds, incidentally, sits next to the Harley-Davidson Roadhouse Stage from July 4-7. Customers who spend $50 in store starting June 17 receive a pair of Summerfest tickets, while supplies last. You might not have Summerfest in your backyard, but you likely have an event with similar appeal that could provide your dealership with more visibility.
