Here’s a look at how some of the inaugural members of the Powersports Business Power 15 are promoting their dealerships, and making a community for customers.
Adam Smith’s Texas Harley-Davidson. 25th Anniversary Party. Free breakfast, lunch and dinner Friday and Saturday. Live music Saturday. Demo rides from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Face painting. 2nd annual Angel Blowup boxing tournament, in which Adam’s Angels compete in a mini tournament in the parking lot of the service department. Bert’s Mega Mall. Bert’s Night at the Speedway Races. Industry racing season opener includes live music. Bert’s sponsors their friends at Industry Racing, who present speedway motorcycle racing for all divisions on a 1/8-mile dirt track.
Ducati Newport Beach. 2nd annual Bike and Bombers event at Lyons Air Museum. Exclusive motorcycle parking and complimentary coffee and donuts provided by co-sponsor Ducati Newport Beach. All motorcycle riders attending the event pay a discounted rate of $8. People’s choice bike show. Winner gets to have their photo taken at the control of the museum’s B-17. Fay Myers Motorcycle World. Kids Day. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Learn to ride a Honda dirt bike. Free dirt bike rides with professional instructors. Free ice cream, face painting, bounce house, prizes and entertainment.
Greeley Harley-Davidson. Bad Ass Sportster Appreciation Day. Free $20 gas card for anyone who rides to the dealership on a Sportster. 6th annual Garage Sale and Swap Meet from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., with free pancake breakfast followed by a free BBQ lunch. One table per household, with setup beginning at 6:30 a.m. Blood Drive from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Donate blood and get the short-sleeved T-shirt of your choice for 50 percent off.
Leo’s South. Italian Invite Tuesday through Saturday. Italian specials all week. Italian demo rides all week. Italian food including pizza and pasta on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. More than 50 Italian motorcycles and scooters. All new non-current with full factory warranties (some with miles) have just arrived. Priced to sell at huge discounts. Brands are Vespa, Aprilia, Piaggio and Moto Guzzi.
Mosites Motorsports. Bike Night Thursday makes its return, this year at Brewstone Beer Company. Outdoor bands, food and drink specials and prizes. Pirate Parrot Cruise for a Cure for Prostate Cancer gives the dealership recognition as the Pittsburgh Pirates mascot rides to Cincinnati for the Reds vs. Pirates game at Great American Ball Park. Mosites provides the Pirate Parrot with a Can-Am Spyder for use at games and events throughout the season.
Nielsen Enterprises. A newsletter titled “Debunking the myth of ‘I can buy this on the Internet cheaper’” is sure to get opened by the dealership’s customers. The effective campaign urges customers to stop into the store for their clothing purchases. “We beat 99.9 percent of all Internet pricing on brand new current product. Don’t pay for shipping and wait for days to get you new helmet or jacket when you can have it today!”
