Rental companies targeted for newest UTV brand

JLG Industries, a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, aims for the rental market for its new UTV models, according to a report from Compact equipment.

JLG partnered with Arctic Cat, now owned by Textron, to produce the three-seat 315G and six-seat 615G. JLG, which is owned by Oshkosh Corp., can draw from its long history in vehicle engineering to guide its upgrades from the standard Arctic Cat UTV platform to something built to rent and drive around a tough terrain job site.

“Rental vehicles don’t get the same care, so for the rental company, they need something that is revenue generating with a longer life for a better return on their investment and less downtime,” said Jeff Ford, director Global Strategy and Business Development at JLG Industries.
