New Hampshire city police implement motorcycle noise enforcement measures

In an effort to curb motorcycle noise in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, police are going to begin carrying decibel reading equipment, according to a report from the Concord Monitor. 

Portsmouth police Chief Robert Merner noted that while he is aware of a proposed ordinance in a Senate committee to ban “motorcycle-only checkpoints”, he has ordered decibel reading equipment for his offers to use. The Portsmouth Herald reported that Merner said enforcement of noise levels will begin in the spring during motorcycle season.
