Harley-Davidson dealer group acquires fifth store

Hannum’s Harley-Davidson Group has acquired Rommel Harley-Davidson in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Originally named Electric City Harley-Davidson, the dealership had been in operation for over 50 years, originally established by the Noto family. In 2004, it was relocated to its current location, and in 2014, it was sold by the Noto family to the Rommel Harley-Davidson dealership group with the help of George C. Chaconas from Performance Brokerage Services.

This acquisition marks the fourth dealership in Pennsylvania operated by Hannum’s Harley-Davidson, and their fifth dealership located in New Jersey. The dealership will revert to its prior name of Electric City Harley-Davidson, paying respect to Scranton’s history. The dealership features a 32,000 square-foot building and is scheduled to begin operating under its new name on Thursday, February 1. Following the purchase, Tom Hannum, III shared, “Electric City Harley-Davidson in Scranton is the third Harley-Davidson store our family has bought with the help and advice from George Chaconas. We really enjoy working with him as he is definitely the Harley expert. He’s very honest and trustworthy too. We highly recommend George and PBS!”

George C. Chaconas, the buyer’s agent for this transaction and the head of the National Harley-Davidson and Powersports Division for Performance Brokerage Services commented, “I am thankful for the opportunity to assist the Hannum family with expanding their dealership holdings. Their reputation in the industry is one of great integrity and focused on customer service. I look forward to seeing their success with Electric City Harley-Davidson.”
