Mayor to attend dealership expansion, groundbreaking party
On Saturday, October 14, Fort Worth Harley-Davidson will break ground on its massive expansion project. Mayor Betsy Price will attend the groundbreaking ceremony. The event will start at noon with breaking ground done in true Harley-Davidson style with a burn-out by owner Mark Smith, followed by a traditional shovel ceremony with Mayor Price.
“I’m extremely excited for our team and all the customers that have so passionately supported our store and our brand,” said Kim Briggs, general manager, Fort Worth Harley-Davidson. “This new facility is for them!”
The project will expand the location’s square footage to 73,000 square feet and includes 7,000 square feet of customer experience zones, entertainment spaces, and a dedicated classroom for the Riding Academy. The location will also be open during construction so customers can see firsthand every phase of the project as it comes together. Expected completion date is fall 2018.
“This expansion has been in the works for a long time and we are thrilled to be moving forward,” Mark Smith, owner of Fort Worth Harley-Davidson, said. “With all the growth that Fort Worth is experiencing, we believe the timing could not be better, and we’re sparing no expense to provide the most exciting and unique experience of any Harley-Davidson store around.”
Media and the public are invited to attend. The groundbreaking event is from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. with live music, free beer and food available for purchase from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Buffalo West will be onsite with their smoker, serving barbecue sandwich baskets. There will also be $1 raffle tickets benefiting the Careity Foundation, which provides services and early detection for economically challenged cancer patients, and relief for children with devastating diseases.
