Mahindra plans to manufacture UTVs

Indian conglomerate Mahindra has announced its plans to double its U.S. investment, totaling $1 billion, and employment in the next five years, according to Barron’s. 

Pawan Goenka, managing director and CEO of Mahindra Ltd. gave an interview with Barron’s, detailing plans to design and manufacture UTVs: “We are launching an off-road utility vehicle. They are used for hunting, farm work, and some of the vehicles are fairly refine. It is being design now in Detroit, branded Mahindra. It is a rough plan, and is some time away.”

Mahindra also plans to double the company’s American employment to roughly 5,000 people in the next five years.
