Dealer raises funds for modified trike for paralyzed officer

High Desert Harley-Davidson, of Meridian, Idaho, launched a GoFundMe page to raise money to purchase a new Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra and modify the motorcycle for a Boise police officer, Kevin Holtry who was paralyzed in the line of duty last year.

On the GoFundMePage, the dealership said: “Holtry has always been a Harley-Davidson rider and was actually in the market for a new Harley two weeks prior to the shooting, which left him paralyzed from the waist down and his left leg was amputated. All of us at High Desert Harley-Davidson would like to get the community involved in getting Kevin back on a Harley! We want to raise enough money to help make all of the necessary modifications to a brand new Tri-Glide Ultra Trike Harley-Davidson! As you can imagine, we’ll need to modify the H-D, so Kevin can control the bike with his hands and arms, including brakes, clutch, gears, etc.”

The dealership has a goal of $65,000 and hopes to give the motorcycle to Holtry by June 17, the same day they will host a benefit ride for him.
