Monster Moto hires director of Retail Sales

Monster Moto, a powersports producer of off-road mini bikes and go-karts, announced the hiring of Ken Wilson as the company’s new Director of Retail Sales. In this role, Ken will be in charge of all of Monster Moto’s retail sales programs and will be instrumental in the development of new sales channels with retail outlets and distributors throughout the country. The addition of Ken directly reflects the rapid growth of Monster Moto and the company’s aggressive sales targets in 2017. Last year, Monster Moto set a goal of bringing all their assembly operations to their 100,000 square foot Ruston, La. facility by the end of 2017, and Ken will be directly responsible of the sales of those American-assembled products.

Ken has more than 20 years of senior-level sales experience with the majority of his career in the outdoor sports and trade industries. Most recently, Ken was the national sales manager at Weston Brands LLC where he was responsible for all sales and marketing related activities within their sporting goods division. Weston is a supplier of products to help with the after-hunt processing of food. Ken has also worked in senior sales positions for Diamond Machining Technology, Innotek, and as a merchandise manager for Do-it Best Corp.

“2016 was an incredible year for us and as our sales demands continue to grow, we need someone who can help us take our retail sales program to the next level and Ken Wilson was the perfect choice for that role,” said Alex Keechle, chief executive officer of Monster Moto. “Ken’s unique background in sporting goods and various trade industries is exactly what we needed to break into new national sales channels, and build the Monster Moto brand into the most trusted name in affordable powersports products.”

Ken will be a critical component in helping boost the retail sales of Monster Moto’s existing products, in addition to three all-new products set to launch this year:

  • MM-B105  – New 105CC Mini Bike built on the same powder coated welded steel tube frame as the 80CC  Mini Bike – more power, more fun
  • MM-B212 – New Adult Mini Bike featuring a powerful 212CC, 7-horsepower engine and CVT transmission – built to get mom and dad into the action
  • MM-E1000 – New, powerful electric mini bike with 1000W electric motor delivering a max speed of 17 MPH and 40-50 minutes of continuous use

“I am extremely excited to join the Monster Moto team. This is an incredible opportunity to help grow a brand that is not only creating amazing products, but also creating jobs and new opportunities for the residents of Ruston,” said Ken Wilson. “In my new role as director of retail sales, I believe we are going to have a tremendous year and continue the positive impact Monster Moto has had on the city of Ruston and the state of Louisiana.”

Monster Moto currently has a variety of key partners that are supporting the custom patterns available on several Monster Motor products including Mossy Oak, Realtree, Muddy Girl, and RCH Racing. Partnerships with several more top brands are already in development.
