Report: Craiglist now a paid marketplace for powersports dealers
LotVantage recently notified its followers of a Craigslist update that will affect dealers who place ads in the Motorcycle dealers category. See below:
Craigslist announced that ads in the Motorcycle dealers category will cost $5 per ad, effective November 15, 2016.
When this happened in the automotive space nearly 3 years ago, we recognized dealerships that put their budget together and continued posting on Craigslist saw lead volume increase by 15 times per unit.
Craigslist, the 12th most visited website in the United States, just cut out the spam from the Motorcycle category and put your ads right in the consumers’ view. The consumer experience will become much cleaner and focused for browsing when purchasing inventory.
This WILL NOT affect your Powersports inventory posted to the ATV, UTV or Snowmobiles by dealer category.
Motorcycle dealerships who dedicate an advertising budget to Craigslist will continue to expose their inventory to local market consumers. Dealerships who have not yet dedicated a budget to Craigslist will see tremendous value in this new pricing model.
