Father’s Day events start this weekend
This weekend celebrates fathers, a core audience in the powersports market, so many dealers are taking advantage of the time to host barbeques, sales and other events to celebrate dads and draw key customers to their stores.
Below are a handful of events the Powersports Business staff sniffed out. Let us know if you’re hosting an event as well.
Treat Dad Like A King Father’s Day Open House
Wild Fire Harley-Davidson in Villa Park, Ill.
9 a.m.-6p.m. Saturday, June 15
Free gift to the first 20 dads, fun for the whole family, beer, food, music, free raffles and more. Enter to win a $100 gift card.
Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast
Route 43 Harley-Davidson in Sheboygan, Wis.
9 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday, June 15
To thank its dads from the area, Route 43 Harley-Davidson is sponsoring a pancake breakfast with all the fixings. Hot cakes will be served with sausage, bacon and toppings to create the perfect breakfast, with a little Harley accessory shopping on the side.
Father’s Day Celebration
Gail’s Harley-Davidson in Grandview, Mo.
11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Free hamburgers and hot dogs, free Dad’s Root Beer floats, free live music from Oasis. Girls vs. Guys Bikini Bike Wash Competition, where the team with the most tips wins, and the proceeds go to support the Lupus Foundation.
Father’s Day Party
Hitching Post Motorsports in Fridley, Minn.
10 a.m.-7 p.m. June 8-15
Join the dealership staff and friends for the 2013 Honda Big Red new model release and Father’s Day party going on from June 8-15, except Sundays and Mondays. Aside from checking out the new iron, there will be free food, drinks, door prizes, demo rides and more.

Free gift to the first 50 dads in the door, free food from 11 a.m. until everything’s gone, enter to win a tool chest, grill, or cooler package. Chopper will be there.

Biker breakfast at 9 a.m., BBQ at noon. Double rewards points for dads all weekend long.

Free dyno pulls on the dyno truck. Hamburgers and hot dogs available for a donation to help Andy Wheat.
Post Father’s Day Bike Night

6-10 p.m. Thursday, June 20
Enter and win prizes for the oldest Harley-Davidson T-shirt with a date, most pins on vest and corn hole. Live music by Rockslide, with vendors, a full bar and prizes. Event benefits the Fisher House.
Around the World by Motorcycle … 6 Times
Bob’s BMW in Jessup, Md.
12 p.m. Saturday, June 22
Hear from professional motorcycle adventurer Dr. Gregory W. Frasier, the only motorcyclist in the world to ride around the globe by motorcycle five times. A belated Father’s Day event, Frasier will be at Bob’s BMW sharing his adventures and showing off “Ugly Helga,” his 1981 R80G/S with 240,000 miles on the odometer. Upon arriving at the dealership, he’ll have completed the first leg of his attempt at a sixth ride around the globe.

12 p.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 15
Woods Fun Center is hosting a grilled chicken taco feast that includes multiple giveaways and raffles. Like the dealership on Facebook or stop in during the event for the chance at a free rider course or to win a new Honda Ruckus scooter.
