Continental recalls 1,700 motorcycle tires

Continental has voluntarily recalled 1,700 of its 180/60R16 M/C 74H ContiMotion motorcycle tires.

Under certain service conditions, the affected tires may experience uneven wear, groove cracking and belt lift, the company reported. Feedback reveals these conditions have been observed with Honda Gold Wing 1800 rear tire fitment, especially when overloading or when the tires are under inflated. No reports of injuries have been received.

The tires have DOT series numbers H60LJJE5110 through H60LJJE3811. They were sold primarily in the U.S.

Continental is working with its distributors and dealers to identify customers who purchased the affected tires. Identified owners will be notified about the recall.
