Advanstar adds second Dealer Expo to Indy in 2013

The trade show landscape took another turn this week, when Advanstar announced that Dealer Expo will be adding an additional show for 2013. The 2013 Dealer Expo lineup will include two shows in Indianapolis — one in February and one in October. Dealer Expo will permanently move to the October date in Indianapolis in 2014.

The news of the date change means the October 2013 dealer show offerings include Dealer Expo in Indy (Oct. 10-12) and the inaugural American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando (Oct 16-20).

Advanstar’s announcement of the new fall date for Dealer Expo included the following factors in the decision to move to October:

OEM and distributor meeting timing has shifted the buying cycle to the fall;

Dealers place the bulk of their orders in Q4;

New products, both OEM and aftermarket, are launched closer to the end of the year;

Indianapolis in October is beautiful, making the show a true “Ride In” destination.

The announcement also says that in October 2013, “select manufacturers will host their dealer meetings in Indy — exciting announcements are coming soon.”
