Film your retail story for a chance at $25K

The National Retail Federation is holding a Nationwide “This is Retail” contest, inviting retailers across America to submit their video story for a chance to win $25,000.

The National Retail Federation is sponsoring a national video contest, titled “This is Retail,” asking anyone who works in the retail sector to submit a video telling their story to help demonstrate the opportunities and power of the retail industry.

The “This is Retail” National Video Contest is accepting submissions through March 16. All qualifying videos entered during this period will be reviewed by a judging panel of retail executives, who will pick the top 20 videos to be announced on April 2.

To qualify for the contest, entrants must fulfill the “This is Retail” contest requirements to be picked as one of the 20 finalists announced at the beginning of April.

Each video must not be longer than two minutes and include the phrase, “I’m [Name], and this is retail.”

“This is Retail” also suggests the following themes, with at least one mentioned during the video:

  • Retail Powers America’s Economy
  • Retail Is Main Street
  • Retail Drives Innovation
  • Retail Strengthens Consumers
  • Retail Creates Opportunity

The 20 videos picked will be placed in a bracket style tournament, going head-to-head with other finalists until there are five videos left. Individuals can vote up to 10 times per day for each video match-up, with the winner decided based on the number of votes.

The five videos that make it to the final round will compete against each other, and the top three finalists, to be announced on May 1, will be flown to Washington, D.C., in May for the NRF’s Washington Leadership conference. At the conference, the prizes of $25,000 for first place, $15,000 for second and $10,000 for the third place video will be awarded to the winners.
