US Highland adds electric subsidiary

US Highland’s Board of Directors has approved the formation of US Highland Electric, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of US Highland, Inc.

The subsidiary was formed to take advantage of the demand for electric motor products, the company said in a press release. US Highland has already been in preliminary discussions with a prospective U.S.-based OEM that specializes in electric motor technology.
“Our primary efforts at US Highland are focused on creating sustainable growth within the powersports industry based on a diversity of both combustion and electric technology for both our OEM and individual powersports customers,” president and CEO John R. Fitzpatrick, III said. “Our long-term strategy is to provide our customers with premium quality innovative high performance products with unsurpassed customer service.”

In addition to the creation of the subsidiary, US Highland also recently announced the hiring of a new chief operating officer. Cathy Allison, a former employee of General Motors, Ford, PPG Industries, Harley-Davidson, and Indian Motorcycle Company, will retain the position.

Allison has more than 25 years experience in manufacturing, which includes paint application processes, injection molding, fabrication, assembly processes, engineering and quality management. She has earned an MBA in management and marketing from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Mo., and a bachelor of science degree in industrial management from Southwest Missouri State University.
“I am so very proud to have Cathy Allison join US Highland,” Fitzpatrick said. “We go back over a decade, when we worked side-by-side at Harley-Davidson in Kansas City and then at Indian Motorcycle in Gilroy, Calif. Cathy is quite simply the best in the world at what she does, and US Highland will be in the headlines a lot because of her involvement.”
