ADP announces community outreach initiatives

ADP, the parent company of ADP Lightspeed, has announced two community initiatives aimed at supporting the communities in which its employees live and work.

In its first initiative, ADP is continuing its tradition of donating $250,000 each to Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity, and OxFam International, which works to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.

In its second initiative, the second annual “Caring for Our Communities” program, ADP asked its employees to nominate their favorite charities for grants of $2,000 each from the ADP Foundation. More than 65 employees participated in the program, which is part of ADP’s Workplace Giving Campaign. Each provided personal stories as to why their charity should be chosen to receive the funding.

The winners of the grant are:

  • Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. Nominated by Kelly Bussio, Salt Lake City.
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness, which works to improve the lives of people with mental illness through education, support and advocacy. Nominated by Tracy Gramse, Minneapolis.
  • Child & Family Resource Diaper Bank, a private, non-profit organization that creates and delivers programs and services that support the development of children and strengthen families. Nominated by Alex Halem, Roseland, N.J.
  • Scarf it Up, an outreach program that provides handmade scarves, hats, gloves and mittens to those in need. Nominated by Linda Ramler, Florence, Ky.
  • Swim Across America, an organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events. Nominated by Trevor Stanco, New York City.

ADP was recently honored as the “Top Company for Working Families” by DiversityInc magazine at an event in Washington. The company was recognized for the inclusive and valuable benefits it offers to its 34,000 U.S. employees.

“At ADP, our success rests on our ability to attract, retain and develop top talent,” said Edward Hurley Wales, vice president of Diversity & Inclusion at ADP. “That’s why we do all we can to help our associates manage their family responsibilities while working to deliver world-class solutions and services to ADP’s clients.”
