DAA Northwest aids charities

Bob McConkey, Greg Mahugh, the staff at DAA Northwest MotorSports and their customers celebrated 19 years of doing business together Nov. 9-10, when the auction’s anniversary sale took place.

“The market was red hot,” McConkey said. “Buyers came from everywhere to feast on a tremendous selection of 1,900 bikes, cars and trucks. About 1,200 units changed hands, resulting in a 63 percent sale overall.”

The auction included a closed Harley-Davidson Financial Services sale on Wednesday and an open MotorSports sale on Thursday that featured consignment from HDFS, Bank of America and dealers from throughout the region.

Wednesday evening, customers attended a dinner party and fundraiser to benefit Spokane’s Union Gospel Mission, the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and Young Life of the Inland Northwest.

DAA offered eight items to bidders: the run number and lane of their choice for one consigned unit at each of DAA’s eight signature promotional events in the coming year. At the end of the evening, DAA matched all funds raised, bringing the event total to $80,700.

“Words cannot express my gratitude for what occurred on Wednesday evening as we came together to help those who are so much less fortunate in life,” McConkey said.
