Tread Lightly! hosts fundraising auction
Tread Lightly is hosting its Fourth Annual Charity Auction on eBay to raise funds to address outdoor recreation issues, the organization announced.
The auction began Tuesday and runs through Nov. 11. More than 50 companies donated upwards of 150 products to the auction, with big-ticket items consisting of a Yamaha Grizzly 550 ATV and a John Deere Gator XUV 625i utility vehicle. Also included are powersports equipment, outdoor gear and getaways.
Bids for each auction will start at 40-60 percent off retail prices, and all of the money raised will go to keeping and sustaining trails and recreation sites for the public.
“We’ve just developed some remarkable new campaigns, tools and programs to help protect outdoor recreation access, and we hope to implement these initiatives fully in 2012,” said Tread Lightly’s executive director Lori McCullough. “Money raised from this auction is key to helping us save access and curtail closures.”
