Western Powersports meeting set for August

A record 105 sales reps will be on hand to see the latest products from vendors at the Western Powersports Motorcycle National Sales Meeting.

“We’ve been on a growth pattern since 2000. Our number of sales reps has gone up every year since then,” said Dan Lopez, 2- and 4-wheel product director for WPS.

The event, set for Aug. 10-12 at the Qwest Center in Boise, Idaho, features two full days and one half-day of vendor breakout sessions. During the sessions, WPS sales reps will be visiting vendor booths in 2-3 person groups for approximately 25 minutes at a time.

“We require the reps to go to all booths,” Lopez said. “We have some vendors here every year, and others we rotate due to the length of the show.”

More than 60 vendors will show their latest products at the show. The snowmobile (half day) and ATV (half day) segments will feature 18 vendors, and 42 motorcycle vendors will display for two-and-a-half days. Throw in a half-dozen in-house brands on display, and sales reps will have plenty to keep themselves busy.

The meetings won’t be all work and no play, however. Attendees will be treated to lunch at WPS headquarters on Thursday, followed by an afternoon of options that include a float trip down the Boise River or golf.

“It’s a long week of learning. We don’t want to overload them with too much information without some fun thrown in,” Lopez said.

The annual awards banquet is set for Friday, Aug.12.
