Top Mountain custom bagger headed for Austrian museum

Austrian dealer Markus Krasser from SMC — Styrian Motor Cycle — won a custom bagger contest with his 2016 Indian Chief Vintage.

Named Top Mountain, the bike is now on display at the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum in Hochgurgl. The build took Krasser and his team six months.

“I built this bike for the owner of the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum, Attila Scheiber,” Krasser said. “He also owns the Top Mountain hotel which is the highest hotel in Europe. The bike can be ridden and it is certified for Europe.”

Markus says the biggest challenge with the build was to find a way to combine old with new and include elements of the museum and Scheiber’s life.

“We achieved this though the painting, by www.airvolution.at, who is one of the best in Europe,” Krasser said. “What you see on the bike are scenes from inside the Motorcycle Museum painted on to the bike. There are 250 motorcycles in the museum from the year 1894 onwards, including 25 old Indians in the collection.”
