MTA adds Shoei; hires King to head sales

Blackwell: Helmet line a ‘crown jewel’ addition

Corona, California-based MTA Distributing announced that it is now distributing Shoei’s premium helmet lineup.

“The addition of another U.S. distributor will open up new opportunities for Shoei to expand,” said Kenichiro Ishida, president of SHOEI CO., LTD. Japan. “We cannot rely on our superior helmets to sell themselves. We must also align ourselves with key distribution channels to ensure that our premium helmets are represented to the appropriate level throughout the U.S. We look forward to this new partnership with MTA and believe their sales force will represent Shoei well.”

Greg Blackwell, MTA’s president, was equally enthusiastic about adding Shoei Helmets to the MTA lineup.

“This has to be one of the proudest moments in MTA’s history,” Blackwell said. “We have been working very hard to add quality brands to our portfolio and Shoei has to be the crown jewel. The MTA dealers are the real winners here and we look forward to being able to fulfill their Shoei needs along with our other fine products.”

Industry veteran King named national sales manager

MTA Distributing announced the appointment of Dan King as national sales manager. King has over 22 years of experience in the industry with a background in sales, sales management, account management and business development.

Dan King

King started his motorcycle career working as a parts manager in a dealership. He has represented such companies as Troy Lee Designs, Motonation, Spy, White Brothers and Castle.

“I look forward to this new position at a company that I am very familiar with and passionate about,” King said. “I look forward to partnering with our dealers and vendors to grow our companies together. You are only as good as the people that you surround yourself with, and I love the team that we have at MTA.”

“Dan’s experience as a sales representative and regional sales manager make him an excellent choice for this position. That, combined with Dan’s knowledge of and passion for MTA as a company, will be a very large asset in his ability to help guide our sales team as we grow in the future,” Blackwell said.

Wheel and tire kit builder for dealers launched

MTA Distributing has launched a new wheel and tire kit builder to support its dealers with a streamlined process that allows them to easily build a kit in minutes on its B2B website.

Orders will now be automated with faster processing times, allowing parts managers to spend more time with customers. MTA dealers can now easily process wheel and tire kit orders with the click of a mouse.

In addition to the new wheel and tire kit builder, dealers can also check inventory, view back orders, process returns, print statements and track packages with ease.
