MOMS opens fourth store in New England

MOMS celebrated the grand opening of MOMS North Country in Lancaster, New Hampshire, in July with two days of activities, celebrity appearances — including New England Patriots players — giveaways, free food and entertainment, a car and motorcycle show and more.

MOMS purchased a former F.B. Spaulding store, which had been a type of general store, selling pet food, seeds, plants and firearms along with products from STIHL and Polaris off-road vehicles.

MOMS North Country now offers Polaris ATVs, side-by-sides and snowmobiles; STIHL chainsaws and power products for home and commercial use; and the area’s largest selection of premium guns and ammo. In addition, the store sells riding gear and accessories and provides service. Pre-owned sales are expected to be strong.

“We are providing the North Country with the true MOMS shopping experience, which includes warehouse-scale product selection, extensive inventories of apparel and accessories, and the best customer and technical service,” said general manager Larry Meservey Jr.

MOMS North Country’s grand opening featured professional chainsaw artist Alan Reynolds, who created wood carvings using STIHL chainsaws, and a STIHL factory rep was on hand to offer product information.

For off-roaders, there was a free ATV wash using a STIHL pressure washer. Best of Show and Best Motorcycle trophies were awarded in a car and motorcycle show.

MOMS was founded in 1973 in Manchester, N.H., and with nearly 45 years of sales and service, the MOMS brand is familiar to riders throughout New England and eastern Canada. That brand awareness will make MOMS North Country a destination for the region’s on- and off-road riders.

MOMS North Country is easily accessible by off-road riders and snowmobilers on area trails, and to motorcyclists and Polaris Slingshot riders touring the area.

“Along with offering the best product selection and service, we are working closely with the area’s trail associations and rider groups,” Meservey said. “We are providing riders with maps and information about the area’s great riding opportunities, and are promoting the North Country’s shopping, lodging and dining.”

The MOMS North Country staff has over 100 years of cumulative service at the store, so team members know the residents, the attractions, and the best riding in the area.

“Those of us who are newer to the area have fallen in love with the North Country,” said Meservey, a U.S. Marine veteran who previously helped manage MOMS stores in Massachusetts. “The terrain, the quality of life, and especially the people of this area are all fantastic. We’re proud to call it ‘home.’”

There are now MOMS dealerships in Manchester and Lancaster, New Hampshire, and in Foxboro and Revere, Massachusetts.
