Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. reported worldwide net sales of motorcycles and engines increased 26.3 percent in its first quarter, which ended June 30.
Total motorcycle and engine sales were ¥67.5 billion for the period. Despite that increase, the company’s overall net sales were nearly flat, with a 0.4 percent decrease to ¥282.5 billion for the quarter. Kawasaki’s net income saw a large dip, down 25.4 percent to ¥4.5 billion.
