PartStream data shows Honda parts in demand
OEM parts searches for Honda cruisers showed strong demand in February, according to data provided to Powersports Business exclusively from ARI Network Services.
Honda took the top 10 spots among metric cruiser models searched for OEM parts, data from ARI’s parts lookup system shows.
Honda’s 1983 Shadow VT750C claimed the top spot, with the 2004 Honda VTX1300 C and the 2005 Honda VTX1300R following.
Top parts categories searched in February included seals and gaskets, likely due to long storage and repair over winter. Clutch plates were the second most popular parts searched. Covers, lenses and plates rounded out the top purchased parts.
“Consumers are actively researching OEM parts online,” said Jon Lintvet, chief marketing officer and vice president of product at ARI. “More often than not, a dealer’s website is where the search begins. Dealers who have invested in the best online parts lookup solution are selling more stuff in-store and online. It’s simple — if consumers cannot easily and accurately find what they’re looking for on a dealer’s website, they most likely won’t pick up the phone or stop by to figure it out. They’ll buy elsewhere.”
