Little change found in Black Book values in June

Powersports Black Book values have remained relatively stable when compared to the previous month, according to a report from Black Book managing editor Ricky Beggs.

On/off-road motorcycles saw the biggest increase, up 2.6 percent or $131. Snowmobile saw the only decrease at 3.7 percent or $168. PWC and jet boats increased 0.4 percent in value as the weather warmed up. ATVs, street bikes, scooters, cruisers and UTVs rose 0.4-1.1 percent.

“This leveling out of values was expected, but it has arrived a little earlier than normal,” Beggs said. “Usually the prices we see at auction rise steadily from January through June, when they level out and then decline for much of the rest of the year. However, this year prices rose faster and earlier than normal and now appear to have crested a little sooner as well.”
