Side-by-side data shows Polaris popularity in Q4

The top 10 most researched utility side-by-sides on NADAGuides.com during the fourth quarter of 2011 include an equal split among Polaris and Yamaha models. The 2008 Polaris Ranger RZR and Ranger 4×4 XP ranked 1-2 in traffic on NADAGuides.com, according to exclusive data provided to Powersports Business by NADAGuides.com.

The 2007 Yamaha Rhino 660 4WD ranked third in research among utility side-by-sides, with the 2009 Polaris Ranger 4×4 XP fourth and the 2006 Yamaha Rhino 4WD in fifth.

Polaris models took six of the top seven spots among the most researched sport side-by-sides, with the 2009 Ranger RZR models garnering the top three spots. The 2009 RZR took the top spot, followed by the 2009 RZR S and the 2009 RZR LE. The 2010 Ranger RZR S LE ranked fourth, ahead of the 2007 Yamaha Rhino 4WD Sport.

Traffic rises
Site traffic to the motorcycle, ATV and UTV section of NADAGuides.com posted an 18 percent increase year-over-year and a 21 percent increase for the second half of 2011, up from 14 percent during the first two quarters of 2011. In the company’s third and fourth quarter Traffic Trends Report, NADAguides.com market analysts report motorcycle sales overall registered their first gains in two years during 2011, led by street bikes and scooters.

Introduced in 2008, the NADAguides.com mobile site has seen a 30 percent increase in unique visitors during the second half of 2011.  Mobile site visitors now make up 8 percent of all web traffic visiting NADAguides.com, which mirrors growing industry figures as more consumers research and shop for cars on their mobile devices.
