Triumph recalls certain Tiger bikes

Triumph has issued a recall on their Tiger 800 and Tiger 800 XC bikes manufactured between September 2010 and June 2011. The recall will affect 1,485 units produced during the 10-month period.

The issue is with the motorcycle’s engine management software, according to a report filed with the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration. The report says that there is a chance of the engine stalling while breaking, increasing the risk of a crash.

Triumph motorcycle dealers will download new engine management software into the bike’s electronic control unit to remedy the issue.
