Three companies team up to design trike

Lehman Trikes, Klock Werks and Prugh Design have announced that they have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on the design, manufacture and badging of a custom trike.

The three South Dakota-based companies plan to use the S.D.C. trike to showcase the design and manufacturing capabilities of each partner.

“Discussions about working together on a custom trike began last year, but schedules between all three companies have conflicted until recently. We are very excited about this new venture and anxious to get to the drawing board,” Lehman president and CEO Ken Hines said.

Michael Prugh of Prugh Designs, a full service design company, has already worked with Lehman in designing the bodies of the CrossBow powered by the Victory Vision and the Storm for the Kawasaki Vulcan 900.

“We are really looking forward to working with Lehman and Klock Werks and bringing a forward-thinking, unique trike to fruition,” Prugh said.

Klock Werks, know for its custom building and accessories, is also looking forward to the build.

“This exciting new partnership will emphasize our commitment to supplying new and exciting products to the motorcycle industry. As the trike industry continues to rapidly expand, there are great opportunities for us to work together well into the future,” said Brian Klock of Klock Werks Kustom Cycles.

The trike will is tentatively planned to debut at the American V-Twin Dealer Show in February in Indianapolis. After its premier, the trike will be manufactured by Lehman and distributed through the OEM’s dealer network.
