Survey shows social media marketing on the rise

A recent survey shows that 73 percent of small-business owners are using social media for marketing purposes, and 80 percent of those have increased their social media marketing in the past year.

Email is used as a marketing tool by 91 percent of small-business owners in the survey. Eighty percent of small-business owners say the first thing they do when they go online is check email, compared to just 5 percent who first check Facebook.
