Ducati starts social networking site

Ducati North America has launched a new social media site intended to connect enthusiasts, Desmo Owners Clubs (DOC), dealers and the company.

The Ducati Community, at www.ducaticommunity.com, is debuting in North America before reaching the rest of the world. Users will be able to share photos, videos, text and more. The site can be synced with Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites, and it follows a blog-type format. Applications for the iPhone and Android will be available in the coming weeks.

“We are beyond excited about the launch of the Ducati Community site. This new platform will keep us at the forefront of technology and current Web media practices. Ducati owners can now share everything from a cell phone image of Nicky Hayden in the paddock to a lap of Willow Springs from their last track day. All of this can be done right from a cell phone and reach users around the globe instantly,” John Paolo Canton, PR Manager for Ducati North America, said in a press release. “It is not just a website, it is a way to connect people and give them the full Ducati brand experience.”

Ducati will relay news on the site, as well as information on model unveilings, major events and unique promotions, so Ducati Community users can view them first. The site is free to use, and Ducati says sign-up is easy.
