Ducati North America posts gains, increases market share

Ducati North America is reporting significant retail gains and increased market share in 2010.

The company had retail gains in North America of 35 percent in December 2010 over the year-ago period. It also had two consecutive quarters of growth, with increases of 8 percent in the third quarter and 9 percent in the fourth quarter. Along with that, Ducati said it closed 2010 with a record amount of North American market share.

Ducati’s apparel sales jumped 24 percent in North America. Spare parts sales were up 7 percent, and accessory sales increased 5 percent.

“We are very satisfied with Q3 and Q4 results, with a solid growth from 2009 and a record market share. These achievements mark the turning point for Ducati in North America,” Ducati North America CEO Cristiano Silei said. “We are extremely excited about our potential for 2011 with the arrival of the Diavel complimenting our outstanding product line-up and our marketing and dealer support programs coming into full fruition.”
